We went trekking in Mt. Pinatubo last Monday (May 11th). And we finished it with a bang; we’ve got bragging rights which so far, no one has matched (until they try it themselves).
La Mesa Ecopark
Cris and I usually make Sundays “biking day” – and last Sunday, we decided to mix it up a bit, packed some food, then went to La Mesa Ecopark first thing in the morning. Hoping that the Pac-Man/Hitman fight would mean less people – we were wrong.
As usual, some GoogleMap chronicling available here, gallery pictures here Read More
Adidas promo!
Ok, so I’m beginning to be partial towards the Adidas brand since I’ve been buying so much stuff from them recently. When I started getting into cycling, I loaded up on clima-cool shirts. I also got some cycling specific Adidas apparel (gloves and shorts) from Velocity, Cartimar. 1 Besides, have you seen their stuff lately? Awesome designs! I totally would’ve preferred their document credit card/checkbook organizer over my much more expensive Oakley one – if only they had released it sooner.
I found that Adidas is my “Zara” when it comes to sports; their stuff simply fit me better than the Nike’s 2 Their shirt’s sleeves tend to be too long for narrow shouldered people like me. et all.
Cris and I will be going “Pinatubo trekking” with her highschool classmate in a few weeks, and I thought I’d invest in a good “all-mountain” shoe that can be used for MTB riding as well (because using cleated shoes is difficult on trails etc.). I’ve been considering a model called TerreX but was contemplating if it was worth its 3.5k price tag. The Terrex was appealing because its mostly mesh (highly breathable), and it has what they call “step down construction” which allows you wear the shoes as sandals (by just folding in the back part).
I was already considering getting it even at 3.5k, then I found out about the promo… Read More

Integration
Again, can’t think of a apt title so there.
I’ve decided that its too much of hassle to use my trunk-mounting bicycle rack for carrying the bikes.
- It takes a good 5-10 minutes to set the rack up and make sure everything’s nice and tight. 1 You don’t want something like that coming lose while driving
- Trunk is rendered “unusable” from the outside at that point; I have to spend another five minutes organizing the backseat to collapse (allowing access to the trunk from the inside 2 Not to mention the challenge of moving my pillows. etc.
- Mounting the actual bikes to the rack is also a challenge; I have to make sure the pedals, forks, etc. are positioned a certain way so that it’s easy to tighten down and not have them scratching each other.
- All this is usually done in the sun…
#3is done at least 4 times 3 Mounting, unmounting when we get to the venue, mounting before you go home, unmounting when you get home - Speed of driving is severely hindered; anything past 60 and you can feel the rack rocking…
So I decided to “retire” it and get a proper system despite the risk of botching up the look of my car. Practicality won this time.
Bisikleta Iglesia
… NOT!
My first time going with a group of five on a “commute.” The Bisikleta Iglesia didn’t push through; so we decided to go on a more difficult ride hahahaha. We were supposed to go to the Maarat trail. Tricia [correctly] suggested we drive there so we could spend most of our energy hitting the actual trail area everyone knows about. Unfortunately that was overruled and we ended up attempting to ride to the place – and ended up in some dirt trail right after the Divine Mercy Village before calling it quits.
