Are you happy?

Here’s another one of those “Manual to my life” posts. This entry in particular explains (in part) why I have a generally “positive” disposition – despite having the same (or probably even more difficult) challenges in life just like any other person.

It doesn’t have anything to do with being “happy” or “positive” – but the simple fact that I refuse to be “negative.” What do I mean when I say that? Read on…


I don’t like people who complain. Well that’s not really true; I embrace everyone’s mystery 🙂

But if you want to test my patience, then the quickest way to get me going is to complain – bonus points if you try to spin it in such a way that you’re kawawa – if you’re lucky enough; I might just decide to step in and beat you with a stick – and I think people will agree that you don’t want to be at the business end of that stick (oh wait, depends what “stick” we’re talking about hehehe). Investing in one’s self

Jason Calacanis said that the best thing to do when on an economic downturn is to invest on one’s self. If you’re a company, concentrate on your core business keep focused, improve and grow your core. Individually, if you’re a 8/10 programmer, now’s the time to invest into becoming a 9/10. Whatever the case may be, the point is now’s the worst time to be worrying about anything external. On the contrary; now’s probably the time where the adage “help yourself before you can help others” is most applicable.

Awesome week

It was an extremely eventful week.

First of all, I wasn’t dicking around like I usually do since I was subcontracted again by a new employer. I only have to put in 5 hours a day and report at 10am to go over the tasks for the day and 10pm to sign-off. It started as a one week trial, but it seems that I’ve just finished my second week, so I guess he likes what I’m doing.

Next was that I had shelves inspired by IKEA/Bo Concept mounted on my wall. Now I have more storage space… space I so badly needed.
