Since we got back from our pilgrimage, we went straight back to our routines… almost too quickly. The lack of sleep has caught up.
First off, we came home on a Thursday afternoon (the 26th I think), and decided to attend BP’s regular practice (tues/thurs). It wasn’t even to learn anything new, it was kind of frustrating that the songs practiced that night were songs Pia and I had already learned before we left.
Then there’s my “job,” in which I tried to do a “day shift” (NY hours, which translates to a graveyard shift here) – remember this is after I had just returned. Suffice to say that my body couldn’t take it. This was the 27th and the 28th.
Then there were the practices (28, 29, yes I attempted to do a day shift while practicing in Jem’s house) for two gigs we had on consecutive days that followed. Each practice starting late afternoon – finishing late in the evening.
Then there were the gigs themselves: first one (April 30) at night, for a friends debut (yes, we still have 18-year old friends hahahaha) and we finished at 3am (of course we ended up in a different place by that time) Then that same day (which is today), we had to sing for a wedding at 2pm… and now I’m home finally
That basically killed any “day” life (wether it be work or play) I had since my body hadn’t had the time to adjust ’til today!
I hope that next week (hey, that’s tomorrow!) I can get my clock back on track and start being productive. Not that we weren’t productive, mind you – after all we did get paid for both gigs. I guess that could be considered “work” to some extent.
