Awesome week

It was an extremely eventful week.

First of all, I wasn’t dicking around like I usually do since I was subcontracted again by a new employer. I only have to put in 5 hours a day and report at 10am to go over the tasks for the day and 10pm to sign-off. It started as a one week trial, but it seems that I’ve just finished my second week, so I guess he likes what I’m doing.

Next was that I had shelves inspired by IKEA/Bo Concept mounted on my wall. Now I have more storage space… space I so badly needed.

There’s also the part where the LCD (Abel) is scheduled to arrive tonight. which is perfect since I was able to find a way to enable and use separate monitor profiles on startup in WindowsXP (OS X doesn’t have this limitation). I’ll be discussing that in another post.

Also, my Powerbook has arrived today. Which means I’m blogging via Ecto once more – oh how I’ve missed my custom HTML shortcut tags! ¹ Custom tags for using Markdown syntax, embedding YouTube stuff, auto-generating lightboxed image tags, etc.

Lastly, it seems my laptop’s battery is eligible for replacement! Which is funny because I just had a conversation with the shop yesterday – where they made clear that despite what what people claim in other forums, batteries are not included in extended/Applecare warranties for laptops.

Anyway, I was already scouring the net where I could have my battery repacked, but thanks to Joel’s post, I immediately sent the shop an email with the image you see below:
