Prometheus

Been neglecting the blog, yadda yadda, same old disclaimer, same old apologies.

So let’s do away with the niceties and just accept the fact that I’m not posting nearly as often as I used to – but I don’t want to waste time reminding myself (and everyone else) about that so I’d rather just get right into what I feel like talking about today.

I watched Prometheus the other day and while I think it had a very straightforward/predictable plot – I admit there are things about it I’m not crystal clear about. Largely concerning on the different species “permutations” in it (as well as the ambiguity of the very first scene – and how it tied into the rest of the movie)

I came across a picture on the internet that summarized the permutations – and I believe if it is accepted to be correct (and I think it is) then it does explain a whole lot of “ambiguious” parts of the movie.

So this post will be none other than my interpretation of the Prometheus storyline. Read More

Christmas Loot

I was supposed to do the whole retail pornography session of the stuff I got myself for Christmas. I’d usually take pictures like crazy as soon as they got here… but I realized there was just too much work involved in taking pictures of that much stuff – so I decided to just link to relevant images/videos to explain what each of them does – that way I could also minimize the commentary on each item.

I’ll probably still take pics of them eventually – but not necessarily for this post. But since I no longer have to wait for them to arrive, I thought I’d just post about it anyways (since I’m woefully behind on blog updates) Read More

Capdase Alumor Bumper

I think I’ve come across what I believe to be the best iPhone4 case… so far.

There are many types of cases, and I’ve had my fair share of them. But over the years, I’ve personally come to the conclusion that one of the most well-balanced (ergo, best) case for the iPhone4 is an honest to goodness, well-designed bumper-type case.

In fact, it’s really not a stretch to say that the Apple official bumper has been one of the most surprising revelations I’ve come across when I bought one (for the heck of it) during my last trip to the US.

And in this post, I’ll be talking about a case I came across today while killing time in the mall: The Capdase Alumor Bumper Read More

Abstraction

Abstraction is a term programmers like to use – the concept of which is basically to approach/tackle a problem CONCEPTUALLY rather than with specific tools. In other words, if applied properly, you’d be able to do whatever it is you intend to do without being tied to a specific requirement (e.g. “I can’t do this unless I have this specific piece of equipment”)

So why the hell am I talking about that right now? Nothing important, can’t a guy shoot the breeze once in a while? It’s been ages since I talked about something in the blog anyways 😉

But sure, let’s apply that a bit on a current experience. Read More

Two tats in the pipe

While I was extremely pleased with the ambigram I came up with for my name earlier, there was one “limitation” it had as far as “tattoo eligibility” went; its [horizontal] length.

It makes a perfect candidate for putting on the back or front of the torso 1 Upper back, or below the belly area … or pretty much anywhere you could put it horizontally.

However, I intended to have my arm tattooed… specifically the inner forearm – which you would think was no problem – since any part of the arm had a nice length to accommodate such a design. And for the most part, you’d be right.

Unfortunately, it’s not that simple for my tastes; I’ll mention some problems I foresee with putting the long ambigram in the various places of the arm. Read More
