Your Majesty

This one’s for Arjay (as per his comment on one of the previous posts) hehehe.

Reprise of my old song “Your Majesty” with the following changes:

  1. Re-recorded the guitar part with my Taylor T5 – used percussive playing (slapping the guitar) for rhythmic effect.
  2. Added bass track via Reason
  3. Added electric guitar parts
  4. Added ambient pad via Rapture
  5. Re-done the vocal track with some lyric changes

You can compare it to the old one below:

I was lost in Your kingdom, trying to find my way back home.
Please, Your Majesty, I beg You, listen to me.
Please help this tired man who’s feeling all alone.

“Look around,” you said.
“Can feel the soothing breeze of day?
Or follow the path on moonlit nights – then you’ll find your way.”

Your Majesty, I never meant to doubt You,
but all these paths You gave lead back to this room.

I should’ve seen You wanted me to stay,
but it felt like I was being led astray.

Your Majesty, I’m begging – indulge me,
I’m asking for your pardon – forgive me.

As I walk these familiar roads,
They seem to leave a clear impression:
That anything under Your control
seems to flourish under Your wise direction.

From the tiny fish that swim the sea,
to the eagles flying over me.
Children sleeping safe at night,
with parents that will hold them tight.
Mountain tops, a piece of stone.
The air we breathe, our flesh our bones.
I come to realize they are Yours . . . we are Yours.

Your Majesty, beckon me.
Cuz I’m ready and I’m waiting.
So grant the wish of this simple man:
To use me any way You can.
Use my strength,
use my mind,
use my soul,
use my voice –
use them all.

OUTRO
Though I’m undeserving – and I don’t belong…
…to be in this world, You still let me come.
I’ve been searching for eternity, when I was home all along: in Your majesty.

I’m surrounded by Your awesome majesty.

  1. this one sounds better but i’ll have to admit i like the previous version better – it’s acoustic feel, the build up, the flow of the song, and the blending of the guitars. i believe mas bagay sa song yung acoustic style nya. but that’s just me.

    Are you serious? The guitars on the first version were a bit out of tune!

    But sure, everyone is entitled to their preference, and just like “The Way it Should Have Been,” I’m leaving the original version uploaded for people like you who prefer the original versions.
