Australia

Been a really long while since I’ve posted anything here. Might as well give you an update.

Just came back from Oz yesterday afternoon. It was a wonderful vacation, I’d tell you what we were up to, but the pictures probably would do it better.

Aside from the pics, the rest were days for shopping and video marathons. Can you believe we’re suddenly “up to date” with Smallville? Three seasons within a week and now we’re planning to get/borrow a dibidi of the 4th if possible. I have to say I really like Lex Luthor’s character. I really don’t mind being him (evil tendencies and all… well, probably not the schizo moments) He’s firm and confident in whatever he does – whether wrong or right. My kind of attitude.

For the shopping part, I didn’t really get a lot of stuff.

Robosapien

For all you Engadget fans I was supposed to get myself a Robosapien after seeing a kid walk on the street with it (I was like “OH MY GOD! THEY HAVE THAT HERE!?” Not that I reallly checked if our local malls had it, but it was a cool thing to see… the mascot of one of the better tech sites I frequent.

Anyways, the price was rather steep, so the fact that I knew it would be mostly a display item, I opted not to buy it, but was still raving about it. The very next day, our cousin Brian comes up with the box in hand. Apparently he’s a “collector” (he’s got a Voltes V for chrissake) and said that as a collector, he understands how stoked I was with the toy. So I can’t thank him enough for that.

ReZap

There’s another interesting thing I picked up: a mother of a battery charger. Charges any kind of battery. When I say any kind, I’m not only talking about sizes here, it can charge even your regular throwaway batteries 15 or more times before you can truly consider them kaput. Another bonus is that it’s got its own battery tester!!! Now that is a worthy investment if I’ve ever seen one.

I always knew it was possible to recharge regular batteries, there’s even a site that teaches you how to build one. I was just stoked to find a consumer version with a lot of bonuses included (testing mechanism, multi-type compatibility, etc.)

Rubber shoes

I used to have these fake GH 1 Green Hills Puma Mostros, which served me well, and whose design I really dug. I was looking for an original version during my trip to Singapore, but alas, they hadn’t the colors I wanted (amazing how you can have a hard time getting black and white rubber shoes). I ended up getting my Adidas Darogas.

Anyways, I got a newer model but very similar to the Mostro, aptly called Nu Mostro. I can’t find a picture on the net of my particular color combination, but just imagine black soles, black strap (just like in the Mostro), but with a Navy blue “insignia.” Only difference I notice from the old model is the strap and a break in the middle, lined with mesh. Overall, a better design so I’m not complaining 🙂

The rest

I got myself a 512MB SanDisk USB flash drive, no caps/covers so there’s no part to lose, aluminum/titanium casing, etc. Pretty sexy design IMHO. That and a new all metal money clip (as in clip only)

One particular product that’s worth mentioning is Sara Jessica Parker’s Lovely perfume. It really smells good! The last time I really liked a particular scent for women was Perry Ellis’ 360 This would be the second. I got Cris one of those (though we both aren’t the perfume-wearing type people, but who cares!?)

Other than that, I pretty much focused on what to get my girlfriend (and her family), and it seems that they’ll like what they got…
