Gym and then some.

Well, the 20th of June is the official post date of this “article,” but an number of considerable things have transpired in the last 48 hours. And this by no means is considered an entry for whatever is yet to happen this Father’s day

June 18th (PM)

As the previous post stated, I signed up for the gym that afternoon. I was then supposed to go to Greenbelt with fellow BP friends. We were supposed to watch an artsy film called “Sex is Comedy,” but I apparently didn’t make it.

How was I supposed to know that the friggin’ ticket booths close at a certain time. The movie was at 9:30pm, and I had my foot on the mall floors at 9:35… still a no go. How prompt! How… NOT Filipino like.

Just as I was contemplating on punching myself in the head for not asking my friends to buy me tickets, the mishap turned out to be a blessing in disguise: Greenbelt, being the happening place it is (note the sarcasm), of course had its fill of people. Lucky for me, that a good friend of mine was with her roomies at the Temple bar. She welcomed me, tolerating my intrusion on their “gimmick,” and for that I will always be grateful.

Anyways the movie ended (actually it didn’t, they just didn’t finish the movie) and we met at Figaro’s. Strangely enough we seemed to have reached the curfew of the whole restaurant scene. Since most of us weren’t bar people (which were the establishments left open at that time), we relocated to the Manila Peninsula for a nightcap.

June 19th

Went off to Grennhills for my first Gym session. Whoopie!

BAD IDEA

Never go to GH on a Saturday, especially these days where they’re constructing the shit out the place, which is a pain in the arse for parking. The actual drive to the Gym probably gave me a higher heartrate than the excercise itself.

Driving stress aside. It was an interesting first visit. I learned firsthand that I was a weakling. My legs couldn’t stop shaking after 30 minutes on that gadget with pedals and handles (that swing in motion when you move). I think that machine hates me. I never got into the “groove,” of that friggin’ machine! I felt awkward the whole time, and that awkwardness contributed to the early exhaustion.

Then they put me on a treadmill. Now that was better, felt more natural. Even picked up the pace and it felt right. I don’t know if it was because that other machine warmed me up, but the treadmill, which was supposed to be more tiring, didn’t feel quite so. The best part was when you’re all done with your excercise, cuz you get to take a bath. The water was strong and refreshing.

I learned a few things on my first day there. The most important was Put water first in your water-bottle Carlo! Good thing Jem was there to let me drink off her bottle.

Next would probably be how to plan what to bring, what to wear when. After realizing that wearing socks and shoes again AFTER gym and shower, unless going straight to a gimmick, was an utter waste of good pairs of socks. Therefore I treated myself to a new pair of Nike flip-flops:

Aren’t they cute?

One Reply to “Gym and then some.”

  1. forever grateful ka na din na pinainom kita? hehehe. gusto ko pa ng manggang hilaw!!! SLURP.

and i agree about the movie, i think you get really limited if your lead actor can’t friggin’ act.

Have a say
