Remembering last Christmas

Thought I would just share these photoshopped pics I did for the marketing of our group’s Christmas party. It would’ve been such a waste to just throw these away – so I’ll use them to test the lightbox grouping method. When viewing with a browser, click on any one of the pictures to engage the lightbox, then it should should tell you whether you can click to an “adjacent” picture when you mouseover to either side of the image.

Don’t be surprised if it breaks once in a while, after modifying the script to accommodate my dynamic Flickr linkbacks, I wouldn’t be surprised if it messes up some functions… I just hope they’re only cosmetic issues – so I can fix them with simple CSS.

From the pictures, you’ll know that BukasPalad tends to take parties very seriously… ika nga: kina-career! For the major parties, aside from the obvious internal marketing, we usually have a themes which could even affect what the members would be wearing. 1 I liked the costume requirement 2 Christmases ago: “80’s fashion trends” I believe the theme was (or was that 70’s) anyways, I came in like I was from the Cure or something complete with the eyeshadow and messy, yet gelled hair. We even prepare videos which have to outdo the past in hilarity (and trust me when I say you should see the videos we’ve got!) I have them archived actuall, and accessible online (streaming Flash), but of course you need to be a member to see them (password/protected page)

The theme for this particular party was Reality TV – the pictures are satirical representations of games or shows that fall into the said genre. The main teaser was a play on Pinoy Big Brother – which I spent a considerable amount of time trying to find the blasted font used, and redid the vectors to apply the logo to our use. The effort I spent conceptualizing these is part of the reason why I don’t want to just throw these away… considering that I wasn’t able to attend the party itself hahahaha.

Anyways, these pics are a testament to how wacky BukasPalad can be. Whoever said you had to be uptight to be religious ministry anyways? I hope you enjoy them!

Before I forget, The party title Blood and Bone came from the lyrics of one of our songs entitled “The Hands that First Held Mary’s Child.” Here’s an excerpt from the last chorus:

This Child shall be Emmanuel Not God upon the Throne But God-with-us, Emmanuel As close as blood and bone

ADDENDUM

I just noticed a mistake I did which I never got to correct. The year put on all of the “ads” was 2006! I can’t believe everyone in the group missed that when we were emailing the teasers!
