Adidas promo!

Ok, so I’m beginning to be partial towards the Adidas brand since I’ve been buying so much stuff from them recently. When I started getting into cycling, I loaded up on clima-cool shirts. I also got some cycling specific Adidas apparel (gloves and shorts) from Velocity, Cartimar. 1 Besides, have you seen their stuff lately? Awesome designs! I totally would’ve preferred their document credit card/checkbook organizer over my much more expensive Oakley one – if only they had released it sooner.

I found that Adidas is my “Zara” when it comes to sports; their stuff simply fit me better than the Nike’s 2 Their shirt’s sleeves tend to be too long for narrow shouldered people like me. et all.

Cris and I will be going “Pinatubo trekking” with her highschool classmate in a few weeks, and I thought I’d invest in a good “all-mountain” shoe that can be used for MTB riding as well (because using cleated shoes is difficult on trails etc.). I’ve been considering a model called TerreX but was contemplating if it was worth its 3.5k price tag. The Terrex was appealing because its mostly mesh (highly breathable), and it has what they call “step down construction” which allows you wear the shoes as sandals (by just folding in the back part).

If…

… your own Mom talks to you about some love/life stuff, then asks for your opinion/advice (which you give your 2 cents), then considers following it (your advice, that is)… should one be worried?

I mean I’m pretty sure I gave a really straightforward opinion based on my views (i.e. brutally honest and unnerving to otherwise “innocent” individuals) – it just feels really weird how the tables have turned as far as “seeking wisdom” goes; lalo na when the main difference between us had always been our views on life.

I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing; if I’ve “grown up” enough to actually “put some sense” in a person who I would normally seek advice from for most of my formative years – or if the world has become that messed up that it takes someone like me to make sense of it. 1 Because, while traditional views may be considered naive this day and age, there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with them; they just don’t apply [that well] anymore, that’s all

Perhaps it’s the latter, who knows. I guess if anything, it just proves that the one certain thing you can count on is change.

Hope it turns out ok for her; at her age, that “aspect” of life shouldn’t even be an issue anymore. I guess that’s what happens when traditional values are met head on with the actual reality of life.

Mavic Wintech Ultimate cyclocomputer

When was the last time I did a hardware review; my review on the Harmonic Converger (which by the way, is one of the most visited pages in my blog)? So to mix my blog contents up a bit, here’s another one.

Actually, I was prompted to make this review because when I was deciding whether or not to upgrade my old cyclocomputer (a Topeak Panoram v16), there was so little information on the one I was planning to get (a Mavic Wintech Ultimate). The pictures in the net are almost all the same, they give the user no idea whatsoever on how big the components are, how they “fit” into the bikes they’re installed in. 1 There was ONE picture, but only showing the computer itself; which was helpful, but not nearly enough.

So now, I ended up upgrading regardless. Thankfully, it was the right decision. And I’ve taken the liberty of putting up more useful pictures up so that people considering getting the computer would have more to work with during their “research.”

This will be more of a picture post than a review to give a better sense of the unit both when installed, and compared with the physical characteristics of another computer. There’s already another review out there which delves on the actual usage, so I won’t reinvent the wheel. Read More

Perez Hilton

I don’t know exactly what people’s opinions are on the recent kerfuffle regaring Perez Hilton’s reaction to that beauty pageant contestant’s stance about gay marriage. But I’m irked enough to make this totally politically incorrect post all because of him – and not regret doing it at all.

Flame all you want, this is what I truly believe so fuck anyone who gets bent out of shape because of it. And yes, fuck me too; because I seem to be getting bent out of shape myself as well hahaha – so we’re even.

While it’s not even close to being a long shot, but I hope that bastard still can get “offended” because I really would like to hope against hope that what I’m about to say here could still hit him where it hurts [even more]. Read More
