Random thoughts

A whole bunch of stuff happened yesterday…

The morning was spent for a quick trip to Infomax Megamall where I purchased yet another bag.

The middle [and actually a whole chunk] of the day was spent with Nono, his brother Winch, Tuna, Noel and Benedict in San Agustin church where we shot the wedding and reception of a batchmate of ours.

The night was spent eating desert in the last stretch of what was supposed to be our family’s thanksgiving party. Now why we celebrate Thanksgiving in the first place – I haven’t the foggiest of ideas. (feeling Amerikano kme eh is what I’d like to say hahahahaha)

Our Legaspi trip

BP‘s trip to Legaspi has proved to be a very fun-filled, yet extremely tiring weekend.

The group had a concert there… and we took an 11-hour bus ride from Ateneo to Legaspi. We left about 8:00pm from the admi, then arrived 7:00am the next morning.

11 hours of gas and break pedals, overtaking, zigzaging (can you say “lousy bus drivers”?) is enough to drive anyone crazy – but as my sister would say: if there’s a group that would make any kind of grueling trip enjoyable, it would be BP.

I’m glad to confirm that that is so true 😉

Ramadan #5

“Nono Felipe”

“Canon EOS 20D”

Nono picked me up this morning to accompany him to an ocular inspection – the real reason however was our planned ramadan (Hidalgo trip) that day – wherein he had to get some blank DVD-Rs and MiniDV media.

I, on the other hand, was going to recieve my replacement 20D that same afternoon.

We ended up getting what we wanted… and as a bonus – treated ourselves to 500-peso PCMCIA CF adaptors for our respective laptops. Now we don’t have to rely on our ImageTanks all the time.

Anyhoo, the replacement unit was supposed to have come from a better/refined production batch (I expect no less from the wait I had to endure) and everything seemed to be in order. I’m happy for another ramadan.

Is film dead?

A friend and I went into a healthy debate wether the digital era was going to eclipse film in the realm of photography. He was a film user, and I of course, defended the digital era.

A lot of points were raised – different perceptions, yet all valid arguments.

I guess the quick answer to the title (is film dead) would be certainly not. However, will that be the case eventually?

Aye there’s the rub…
