I tried using an image transformation tool which claims to interpolate what a subject would look like when he/she has a different set of racial traits. After these results – I guess I wouldn’t want to be any other race after all hahaha.
I set the “base” settings to the following:
- Male – obviously
- West Asian – Honestly I don’t look like any of the choices. In fact my GF’s sister asked her the same question: “ano ba si Carlo? Hindi mestizo/puti, pero hindi din mukhang Pinoy.” I certainly don’t think I look Chinese, but while I’m far from western-asian looking, I guess it was the closest choice I could make.
- Teenager – because, while I am old, people say I still look like a kid. And compared to Americans, all of us Filipinos look like high school students.
This is the source image I used, since it’s the only image I had that was closest to looking straight ahead with a deadpan expression:
Here are the results:
Apparently my look at my age today is all wrong. I should look like the image below. I call it the sleazy-child-molester-uncle-person-man
Then apparently, I was a girl during my childhood.
Which is very confusing… because according to the engine, a girl me should in fact look like this:
Quite honestly, I think my current, unaltered, look is prettier than what “woman” variant this application can spit out. What’s worse is that as caucasian, I look much more like a woman hahaha.
Or maybe like those role-playing game elven characters. Perhaps this is my chance to be a Legolas… a fucking gay Legolas.
On the other side of the spectrum, we have me as a black person. God is playing some sick joke on me as I think I look like Sam Cassel… one of the fugliest players to grace the NBA.
But then I guess it was better than being drunk… which made me look like this abortion of a black man: Michael Jackson.
The East-Asian image is quite convincing though. But I’d sooner call it Chinese than East-Asian. See for yourselves:
As a bonus, the application has stylized renderings, such as what I would look like as an anime character:
OOPS, no wait – that’s not the right one. Oh, here it is:
Pretty close eh?
How about as an old person:
I dub myself Chief Time-has-passed. Since when did being old translate to being a Native American Indian?
Of all the pictures this is arguably the closest to what I looked like:
Now that’s accuracy for you!
