Sex makes people healthy, cheerful, strong, beautiful and sleepy:
It is generally believed that human beings have sex either for pleasure or reproduction. However, the number of people driven with these motivations has been reducing steadily during the recent years. The majority of humans use sex as the most pleasant and available remedy for a whole bouquet of problems.
DUH!?!? Why are news items like these popping up now? This has been a fact since the beginning of time! In fairness, it was dated July 2005, but still!
It’s a good argument nonetheless to use for persuading your girl/guy, who likes going to the gym, to put their efforts to “better use” hehehehe. Seriously.
What I’ve heard though is that a fit person has longer stamina… hence can perform longer in bed. But when you read the article, you’d start to think otherwise… lets break it down.
True, you’d have longer stamina if you exercise… but that addresses fatigue. Sex, I would like to argue, doesn’t “tire” a person per se. Because if you’re genuinely tired, you can’t come because it wont be a pleasurable experience at that point. While I’ve experience the whole “wanting to sleep” afterwards, I don’t think it had anything to do with being tired. Instead I’d like to think it’s precisely because of this.
The raising level of oxytocin produces a strong tranquillizing effect. Sex can therefore be considered as a perfect natural soporific medication.
Now if you work out, wether or not your stamina increases, I don’t think it’s anyway related to preventing the oxytocin buildup. Hence no matter how fit a person is, if his/her body simply produces at that rate during sex, no amount of muscle or training will affect that.
What will affect the length of performance however is willpower. That’s where God’s cruel joke comes in. The ultimate goal of sex (as a pleasurable experience ok? Don’t get Religious on me) is orgasm. That would also depend on how attracted you are to your partner. If you’re partner’s really hot, even if you’d like the moment to last forever, you can’t help but being VERY stimulated ergo it would be easier for you to come. As I guy, this explains why the first time with a new woman is usually quick, and gradually gets longer (and better for both) the more often you do it. In any case, the “training” you really have to do isn’t sit-ups or whatever, but conditioning your mind to limit the sensation (or use paraphernalia). Or be in a totally different mental state 1 The musician Sting is said to be able go at it for 5 hours.. In any case, it’s all in the mind, not the machines.
That’s not to say that working out is useless though, I mean you do get toned and you do become more attractive when you have a nice body (and self-esteem), so that helps in sex as far as the excitement/attraction is concerned. But I really don’t think it crosses over to the level of performance, unless you’re at a physical extreme (obese, etc. etc).
And of course there’s the whole part about people being unique. People simply think different from each other, so no matter what angle you approach sex with, some people will love what you do, and some people simply don’t. But regardless, they can’t deny the scientific evidence that sex is a good thing! And more importantly, if you ain’t getting any, then gym away… but if you are, why waste money on something that will tire you instead of something that can heal you hehehe.

didnt sting already admit that all that crap about tantric yoga and being able to go at it (and having orgasms) for long periods of time were just publicity? i distinctly remember him saying sorry in an interview or was it just my imagination?:P
Dunno hehehehe. If so, I stand corrected, but I wouldn’t put it past yoga. Though I never got to 5 hours, I recall being able to do a couple of hours (not often though) through “moderation,” for lack of a better term. So possible talaga “tumagal” in general if your psyched enough.
My point is for me, being physically fit has more of a psycho-somatic effect than actually being “effective” beyond reasonable doubt.
