Obligatory birthday post

This will also be the test-run of the footnote plugin I’ve just installed. I’ve been in contact with the developer via email, and we’re sorting out bugs and sharing notes. He was also gracious enough to give me his Ecto plugin for me to use.

Anyways, today is like any other day (as are all my b-days) difference is we had to get up at 5 past for a 6am mass. What was interesting though was yesterday. Where I had a car accident.

Accident

For some reason my brakes failed… well not really failed, but weakened#[1] (either that or my leg wasn’t that strong) and I slammed into a Honda CRV along the C5 flyover. A very unfortunate coincidence that I had absolutely nothing to defend myself with, being that I was behind, and who really gives a hoot if my brakes failed or not right?

So I got out of the car and simply said a couple of things that essentially meant “I have no excuse, It’s my fault, so lets just go through whatever procedure we have to go through to get this over with” Of course I said this in a very apologetic manner.

The guy, after inspecting his rear end, noticed only a scratch in the tire-guard’s paint! I myself was amazed – I could’ve sworn that the impact was quite strong. I saw the CRV jerk forward when I hit it. Anyways, though the man had every means to exploit my fault to the fullest extent#[2], he didn’t. He said that since it was just a scratch in the paint, maybe I could just give him money for the paint job for that particular area (obviously he meant he would just do some patchwork with it) So 1k and we were even. Lucky break for me!

Checked my car after, and there was nothing worth worrying about. Just small paint scratches in the fender and a dented license plate. And both aren’t even noticable unless you really look for them. A fallen tree trunk could’ve done more damage.

Seems like karma does float around. Though the accident was really unfortunate, I still consider good karma working on my part because I was really at a disadvantage then. And now that kind man has good karma on him for his generosity and forgiveness.

Cool gift

I have to give props to Jowi for giving me a really cool gift. She claims that she messed it up, and that I should just consider the “thought.” What she doesn’t realize that the gift itself was cool, regardless of the thought.

Now I have a real nargalzius.com shirt hehehe. (this was only Photoshopped)

What now?

Well today I do what I always do… which is go along my usual day. I figured not to waste a day off from work just because of my b-day, so I didn’t mention anything at all to my employer, I’m sure that “day-off” can be used somewhere else.

Later tonight, I’ll be having dinner with my family in this restaurant called The Seven Corners Coffee Shop, where my cousin is the Sue Chef#[3]

[1]: You know when the engine dies and the brakes suddenly become very weak? Something like that, only the engine didn’t die. [2]: Using the recent accident “bills” to cover even past damages, etc. [3]: I believe that is synonymous to Assistant Head Chef.
