Batman

DAnaNAnaNAnaNAnaNAnaNAnaNAnaNAna BATMAN!

GP, Jojo, Leo, Pia, Elaine and I watched Batman Begins 2 days ago @ the powerplant mall.

One good thing I’ve noticed about superhero flicks nowadays is that they focus on the humanity (or psyche) of the hero. Which is a good thing as it makes the movies better. Spiderman2, Incredibles, etc. etc. now Batman.

No need to say that the movie was excellent. I have 3 complaints about it though:

  1. It kinda destroyed the continuity… you can’t really connect it to the first (Burton) Batman anymore. Which is a waste since the first Batman can still hold its own against this – I was hoping they would come hand-in hand.
  2. Katie Holmes sucked! Lousy lousy lousy! Her “sucking,” should just be a verb instead of an adjective, maybe that would make her more useful.
  3. The dialog kinda went down a little when he finally became the Batman.

But other than those few peeves, it really was good. The best superhero flick to date. And it makes me worry (or excited) about how Fantastic 4 would perform.

The movie stands out in how it makes the hero as “real” as possible. It’s not some half baked story that shows some pansy who believes in some utopian harmony in society that makes him take it upon himself to be some kind of vigilante. The movie clearly explains everything leading to the decisions and abilities of Bruce Wayne which made/make him what he is. Why bats? why do it alone? why even bother? It’s all there… so much so that you’d think it was totally possible to be a Batman yourself… if you had billions to spare on technology hahahaha.

Anyways, enough of that. Just watch it… unlike Revenge of the Shit (and all other StarWars prequels), this is guaranteed not to disappoint.
