Brilliance

Geez, I wonder how it feels like to be this smart

The article says Mr. Hawking lost a bet as he discovered the answer to his research to be different from what he had predicted.

“He sent a note saying ‘I have solved the black hole information paradox and I want to talk about it’,” says Curt Cutler, a physicist at the Albert Einstein Institute in Golm, Germany, who is chairing the conference’s scientific committee.

I wonder what a conversation of that realization would be like?

Hawking: “oh by the way Curt…” Curt: “Yeah?” Hawking: in passing “I’ve solved that black hole paradox, I’d like to discuss it with the other chaps tomorrow.” Curt: “Oh, that, sure thing. Would it take long? Should I prepare some tea?”

***and the conversation continues***

The way that note sounded so “FYI-ish” just cracks me up. It’s like saying “Oh I’ve finally got rid of that pesky insect in my drawer… moving along.” It’s sooooo coool!

  1. You do know that Stephen Hawking can only move his thumb and forefinger?!? If that was the only guage of how smart a person is, I’m a bit close. Hahaha 🙂

Have a say
