Coming home

My sister Pia will be arriving at the airport tonight… or so she says.

If I’m not mistaken, she said that approximately 4 times before finally coming home 2 years ago.

My sister has a habit of extending every time we go on our US tours. We go there for a month, and she almost always milks the 6 months alloted for all their worth.

First time was to look for opportunities, now it’s for that doofus she has amazing patience for. Girls can be real idiots sometimes, but hey – that’s the human heart for you. She’s old enough for anyone to tell her otherwise, either this whole ride ends up as another learning experience for her, or she finally finds happiness. Either way, it’s her life.

But that’s not the point of my blog, the point is the hilarious fact that her phone bill now has now reached ridiculous proportions… and the whole time she’s been in the US, I’ve never heard her call home.

That’s such a “Santos trait” (at least as far as Pia and I are concerned) – Call everyone else except your family. Hahahaha, that absolutely cracks me up. Wonder how she plans to pay for that.

Picking her up later, assuming there’s no last minute change of schedule. I’m finally getting the stuff I asked her to buy, which she didn’t give mom to take home months ago. Obviously, she didn’t take into account her penchant for extending unannounced.

No matter, as long as I get them tom, it’s all good. If not… then I’ll just whine by my lonesome – since there isn’t a goddamn thing I can do about it.

Have a say
