Pluggies

Since I came back from Australia, I haven’t had the chance to thank certain people for “plugging” me in their weblogs from the past year (ok actually only one from last year, but another one recently, hence this post). Of course Anybody can plug anyone – doesn’t really mean what they’re plugging is that important (but I do hope mine falls into the “somewhat cool/important category… asa pa ako!) In any case, it doesn’t hurt to be cordial and to give thanks where thanks is due.

First of we have Punzi, BP Online’s resident lawyer hehehe. He had a listen to my songs and plugged them on his blog.

I want to return the favor by saying that his blog is one of the more “useful” resources out there. Unlike us, who focus on our blogs being simply journals of anything under the sun in our specific lives, his blog has a lot of lectures on the law. It’s too bad I’m not keen on being a lawyer, but from what I’ve read, he seems to be a perfectly capable academic law teacher if he so chooses to be one 1 I wouldn’t be surprised if he is.. I guess he has a terrific sense of decrypting the jargon involved with legal stuff and siphoning it down to words we all can understand.

And to answer the last sentence in his post; I wish that too… unfortunately I ain’t got the means (or connections) to do so. Story of my life hehehe.

Also, other people have been saying good stuff about “Addicted to Your Smile” too hahaha. Apparently the prevailing thought is usually “this would make a great Close-up jingle.” Hahahaha.

Next we have the Ria [Villena] Osorio inadvertently plugging my stuff in her blog just the other day. I had her listen to my work. Don’t worry, it was totally unrelated to “commercial success” 2 Though wouldn’t it be great if could be? hahahahaha

Ria is, as one would say, a extremely accomplished musician (wether she admits it or not). I’d love to go into detail to prove my point, her heritage, her peers, etc. But I figured she wouldn’t appreciate me drilling into her life. Besides, she doesn’t need to live in anyone’s shadow, wether parent or peer. She has “arrived” on her own with her own two hands and voice – and everyone who knew her since school days knows how much she has grown and succeeded in her craft. And I will say this: if you only knew the stuff she’s been up to now…

So regardless of what she, or others think, I put great weight in the fact that she mentioned my work at all. Not only because she’s a good friend, but she’s a super musician… and her input means a great deal to me. I dream of the day when we walk among the same peers, perhaps even working, jamming, having fun as most musicians do… but alas I’ve still a whole lot to learn.

Anyways, thanks again for the plug dear 🙂

  1. Hi! Are you by any chance related to Teri uhmÂ…err sorry I forgot her last name, but I saw in one of your Sydney photos a picture of you with her sister and brother-in-law. =) IÂ’m RiaÂ’s cousin by the wayÂ…I saw your URL in her blog and decided to snoop around and stuff. =D Hehe.

  2. @Punzi

    No problem! By all means, you can even distribute them to your friends if you want 🙂

    @Trish

    I’m guessing it’s Teri Villanueva (since the Sister is probably Itin)? I state that as a question too because I know two people from the Villanuevas (Itin and Apple) – so I wouldn’t know about their other siblings.

    In any case, the answer is NO 😉 Both Itin and husband Third (the brother-in-law) are friends of mine, no filial relation whatsoever 🙂

    Thanks by the way for spending some time here, hope you enjoyed whatever content you came across 🙂

  3. Ah yeah, Teri’s last name is Villanueva. =) I met Itin and Third through her, but I’ve only hung out with them once and that was ages ago pa. I doubt that they still remember me, but I do meet up with Teri every now and then…she was my batchmate in MCHS. =) Anyway, very nice photos you’ve got in your blog! Ang gaganda at galing! =)

Have a say
