This post was really posted in the 16th of Feb, but who are you to argue?

In case anyone’s wondering, PWN is actually OWN
Its “etymology” comes from the fact that anyone who likes typing under pressure (typically the network/internet gamers), naturally mis-spell words – and couldn’t care less about it since they know that the other side understood what they were trying to say anyways.
To “own” in this context, is to have control over something/someone – so it is a term that [naturally] easily made its way into the hearts of the hackers, gamers, etc. who cling to any shred of masculinity that is left in something so non-tangible as the internet.
This mistake “PWN,” is now accepted as internet jargon and is purposely used to emphasize its original meaning (of course it could also be that they just messed up again while typing)
Wow, that could also be a good excuse for all the typos in my posts… after all I pwn this blog!
Having said that – Happy Valentines Day to all!
