Well, Doom3’s finished. Pretty interesting along the end. I guess I was too quick to judge ID. I guess Half Life really did a good job to set a “standard,” which other games had to top.
I wouldn’t say Doom3 beat HL’s story though, but it’s pretty good.
After analyzing the game, I then thought of the other games I’ve played, games that I consider “the best” story-wise. For the heck of it, I’ve listed some off the top of my head.
- The Longest Journey
- Vampire the Masquerade
- Silent Hill 1 and 3
- Max Payne 2 – The Fall of Max Payne
- Diablo 1 and 2
- Half Life
- Thief 2
- Jedi Academy
- Hitman 2
The titles in italics are games I swear my life on. And it’s funny because those are two games I only “tried” for lack of any other options during the time. It’s amazing that they turned out to be the ones with the best storylines I’ve ever experienced.
Those two will FOREVER be on the top of my list… unless something really stellar comes along.
