RIP: George Carlin

What the fuck is with all the deaths recently? Not that they can be helped, but I seriously think there are other people more deserving of death than the people I’ve been hearing about.

So now we’ve got Carlin kicking the bucket as well.

Why him? George Carlin is by far the greatest comedian I’ve ever come across. Why couldn’t it be one of those other rip-offs like Carlos Mencia? Joe 1 See what I did there? Watch the video to get it.-fuckin’-dammnit!

He will be sorely missed.

The definition of boxing

Boxing is an activity in which each of two men, by delivering a series of repeated sharp blows to the head, attempts to render the other senseless – leaving him lying on the floor, unable to act rationally, defend himself, or even stand up.

If one of the two men is knocked down and beaten into an only partially blank and helpless mental state, the other is made to stand aside and the contest is halted momentarily while the damaged man regains just enough strength to stand up and have the beating continue… to the point where he is again lying on the floor – this time completely immobile and functionless.

Afterwards, the two men embrace in a display of good sportsmanship.

I never quite saw it that way! Hehehehe.

The destruction of the english language

I was listening to George Carlin’s Brain Droppings audiobook, and anyone who knows Mr. Carlin, knows how he likes to specialize in the english language and starts lambasting people, concepts, and misconceptions that are deteriorating the integrity of the english language.

I’ve only listened to a third of it, and I can’t help but already list a bunch of stuff from it.

Starting with sincere corrections of words and terms that have been incorrectly used over the ages, then going to the some sarcastic overly-literal interpretations to concepts and phrases we all know.

Good stuff.
