Training

So, as some of you know, I got bicycles for myself and Cris – and I’ve been teaching her how to ride. The goal is to be able to get Cris’ riding up to a level where she and I (and other friends) can join the Tour of the Fireflies next month.

We started yesterday at the AHS field where she was able to ride in a few hours. 1 Of course, mostly just keeping herself from falling. But still, she’s learning from an MTB which is much more difficult for a beginner’s bike At rate she’s going; she’ll definitely make it.

Oh, nakapikit pa! Joke lang 😉

Today was another day of riding for her; trying to ride straight and turn. But it was also my first day on riding with the cycling shoes I got. So both of us were in “student/training” mode a while ago. Read More

Here’s the final setup, after which, I’ll be discussing the reasons for changes/final decisions. This will also be the second to the last post about the bike in particular… the last would be a picture post with some bike porn!

Bicycle, Bicycle

In case you didn’t get it, the title in should be in the tune of Queen’s Bicycle Race

Now that I’m officially done with my other major project (car), time to move on to the next one: Investing in a bicycle.

The funny thing is: I’ve been planning on getting a bike since last year, but have always been putting it off since I didn’t want to be riding a bike alone. Luckily my fellow Soulsearchers seem to be getting into it 1 Everyone wants a way to get/remain fit at our age Read More

A little here and there

My blog has been acting up the whole of last week – which is why I haven’t been able to post about the other mundane stuff I’ve been up to.

Some geek shit

I had just upgraded the core WordPress engine, and for some reason, my index page won’t display articles. All other pages work though. There was nothing wrong with my code; and I don’t say this arrogantly, but because I tried plugging my code to a default template and it worked flawlessly. (Of course it did… why shouldn’t it? Ok that was a tad arrogant 😉 hehehe.)

Anyways, I had the time to sort it out today after finishing work. Turns out the new version wouldn’t play nice with concurrent database connections like the older one did. 1 my peer list, and social network icons, are stored in another database Anyways, nothing that a simple mysql_select_db(); switch couldn’t fix. So back to regular programming Read More

That’s what you get…

… when you’ve got nothing better to do.

Cris was out with her fellow teachers on a trip to Baguio for the weekend, which meant I was home alone the whole weekend.

I used the downtime as an opportunity to fix my iTunes library some more – but with twenty-plus thousand songs, obviously it’s still not done. Then idle thoughts started creeping in… Read More
