The Power of Nightmares

I just got to watch BBC’s three-part documentary/series “The Power of Nightmares.” I wouldn’t say it was an eye-opener, but I can say that it would be good for everyone to watch it – so long as you have an open mind.

I guess the good thing about this documentary is how it explains the danger from both sides. How a government can abuse and use fear to control society, and how even noble causes can mutate into idealism that’s no better than the system they wish to abolish.

iTunes 7 – looking good!

I finally had the time to upgrade iTunes to version 7, I must say that the improvements in this build are pretty impressive.

Tasks View

What I particularly like is how they separated the “current performing tasks” into it’s own page rather than having to click and cycle through the main display. This can get very irritating if you’re downloading a lot of podcasts, then are listening to something. Say you want to change the playhead position on that song – you’ll have to cycling though the different tasks until you see the “task” for the current playing song.

YouTube killer?

A little bird told me to check out this site.

Dare I make a prediction? I bet sites like this will eventually kill YouTube. For as long as they remain free, I predict that the userbase can grow at an exponential rate.

Say what you will – but we all know how powerful pornography is. It’s not surprising actually, considering that it’s probably the most popular “activity” regardless of marketing (or lack of it).
