Hola from Singapore

Just wanted to say hi from Singapore. Went on a tour half of the day today (and the whole day, a day ago). I have to be honest and say that Singapore has it’s share of “sites,” but it really isn’t for sight seeing. The aura it exudes is similar to that of Hongkong’s (at least for me) and is better for shopping than for tourism.

Tomorrow however, the fun begins as we have a whole free day and I plan to go to Funan IT center, which also happens to be really close to the Etymotic Research main office in Singapore.

Unfortunately, they don’t have any products on stock at the country at the moment, but I wanna check out what offers they may have even if it means shipping to the Philippines once the stocks get here. After all, Singapore is said to be the electronics heaven as far as price is concerned… and July is sale month here.

That’s it for now… oooooh and I have a treat for those reading the blog: 10 megabytes/30 chapters of utter bliss. Download the zipped PDF (the book title’s initials are the filename, and you’re damn right it is what you think it is!)

I prepped it myself, from an OCR trace to HTML, I thought it would be better to put it in one file, and format it better (bookmarked it too).

It’ll be up for about a week since I don’t want to get into trouble, so snag it while you can.

You ready? Here it is!

Before I leave…

We’re headed for Singapore this weekend. I’ll be back on Monday.

It’s a bummer I don’t have a camera with me since I plan to just do some sight seeing when I get there (because I focused on shopping the last time I went). But now that I don’t have anything to document it with, I guess I’ll just look for some cool stuff to buy.

Back from Cebu and random thoughts

Arrrgh! Blog still acting up! So I’ll try not to include any URLs in this post just to be sure I don’t get any errors. The issue should’ve been resolved already but apparently the DBD::mysql module of my server hasn’t been updated yet.

Anways I just came from a trip to Cebu. Second time I visited the place, first was for work and now for a wedding. And what a wedding it was! I’m glad I don’t live in Cebu since this guy really set the bar. I can just imagine all the men there feeling mightily inadequate after hearing about it.

If it isn’t one thing, it’s another

Recently I’ve been experiencing erratic behavior of my weblog. I’m getting strange errors that don’t tell me what the hell is happening.

I post something, and get an error, but when I check back, it has been posted. I try making test posts and they go fine. Then when I make lengthier ones, sometimes they publish, sometimes they don’t.

Given the symptoms I’d gather it was a plugin conflict since it seemed that the text is the one that decides wether it freaks out or not. But strangely enough, when I kill the text parsing plugins, the same error occurs.

I searched the web and found out that there are a lot of similar cases… exact cases to be precise. The kicker is, that this all happened within the past week. And people have been tracing it to a cPanel (which is a type of administration/interface system used by most webhosts nowadays). Apparently, there’s been an “update” to some modules and they broke MovableType, and now the whole MT blogging world (myself included) have severely crippled systems because of these upgrades.

I hope this is resolved soon.
