If I could look different…

I tried using an image transformation tool which claims to interpolate what a subject would look like when he/she has a different set of racial traits. After these results – I guess I wouldn’t want to be any other race after all hahaha.

I set the “base” settings to the following:

  1. Male – obviously
  2. West Asian – Honestly I don’t look like any of the choices. In fact my GF’s sister asked her the same question: “ano ba si Carlo? Hindi mestizo/puti, pero hindi din mukhang Pinoy.” I certainly don’t think I look Chinese, but while I’m far from western-asian looking, I guess it was the closest choice I could make.
  3. Teenager – because, while I am old, people say I still look like a kid. And compared to Americans, all of us Filipinos look like high school students.

Hilarious Harry Potter audiobook mashup

While listening to DistortedView, I just had to lift a part where he played an erotica mashup from the Harry Potter audiobook series. The track is supposed to be from a CD by Cassetteboy called Dead Horse. I have to say the the audio splicing here is very impressive, while you can hear the shifts in the tones, it still takes a ton of effort to find a “nearest neighbor” type of inflection of a certain word. Suffice to say, with very few exceptions, it sounds very natural for the most part.

I can’t wait till Cassetteboy’s CD rears it’s head on AllofMP3, that sucker’s a sure download for me!

Abel is gone

While I had no intentions of naming my monitors, I ended up having to – since they both register as “VX922,” and it’s quite hard to tell them apart when fiddling around with the settings. Hence I dubbed them Cain and Abel respectively hehehe.

Anyways, I had Abel returned for replacement/repair as it had a dead pixel. The “serivice” unit given to me for the time being was a ViewSonic VA1912wb 19″ widescreen. I thought this would be the perfect time to test out the “align” feature in the display properties (for monitors that have different resolutions, you have the option to offset your native monitor alignment). This is the result of the re-alignment

Some corruption could be good

As much I hate to admit it, sometimes a corrupt system has its benefits. From the tong-able traffic enforcers, to the fixers in the LTO.

But in all fairness, usually these unfortunate “technicalities” I don’t mind playing into usually just have to do with not being able to get things done because of futher red-tape. I guess if you’re caught and given a ticket, it would be fine if you can get your driver’s license back easily. Or you’d probably not go through fixers if they actually fixed the inherent slowness of data-processing in LTO’s system. And someone still hasn’t explained why the fuck they need to take two different digital pictures, at two different places, at two different times! Haven’t these guys heard of the term file-copying?

You know what? I don’t even know why I’m explaining myself, do whatever the hell you want to do – I’ll do whatever’s quickest. But that’s not the point of my post. The “corruption” i’m talking about is in the Ateneo system itself… and God bless them hahaha.
