La Mesa Nature Reserve Take 2

Today was supposed to be another fun big-group newbie ride, but because of the rains it was cancelled… but there were some of us who still “pushed” through despite the risks of a much wetter/muddier trail. It was worth it!

I went with Bruno, Alan and AJ. I ended up being the newbie there as the former two already compete… and AJ while a “newbie” biker as well, seemed to have this monstrous endurance! Read More

Put 56 in the middle…

Sorry to be vague, but here’s the deal:

As of this posting, (if the scheduled publishing 1 Just in case I’m not in front of the PC when it hits feature of my blog is working), it should be 12:34pm of July 8, 2009.

If you put 56 between the time and date you get 12:34 56 7/8/9 🙂

I just fucking blew everyone’s mind 🙂

Wishing you all some good cosmic mojo that only this inexplicable “event” can ever possibly bring.

Orbea Alma

This entry and its contents are updated whenever
there’s a change in the “item” being discussed 😉

Bike/post was last updated 2009.08.26

Because the post is too long to be re-read whenever
there are updates, each section has been date-stamped
(mm.dd.yy) – so you can skip right to the recent changes.

I noticed that while I’ve been posting about my biking experiences, I’ve never taken the time to talk about my bike itself in detail. 1 I have posted about parts I was planning to buy, and some specs here and there, but nothing in-depth (plus, I hardly get to cover the little details as much as I would want to) As such, I’ve decided to consolidate all my bike’s “details” into a single entry which I can update whenever applicable. This makes it easier as I just have to just point people who ask about my setup to a single URL and know that it will be fairly current.

I also will discuss my personal journey/process of how I picked every part of my bike in context of being a newbie myself – which could be useful for anyone who’s planning to get into the sport and have the same concerns/questions that I once had.

Meet my Orbea Alma (08.26.09)

La Mesa Nature Reserve

Best 200 bucks a biker could ever pay for; up to 40km 1 20 in our case since a lot of routes were closed due to the rainy season of non-linear trail. I only wished Cris was there to “enjoy” (and by “enjoy,” I mean go through the hellish uphills as well) it with me.
