What girl[friend]s need to know about their geek boyfriend(s)

Looks like this video hit home for a lot of people. I was surprised that even friends of mine who knew nothing of technology, would even know about this videocast; sure enough, it was because of their geek “partners.”

I really have nothing else to say about this aside from the fact that whether women (or men) like it or not, the geeks will inherit the future. Technology will only progress, and will, little by little (or by leaps and bounds) integrate more and more into society… those who “control” technology will be on top, that’s inevitable.

I’m really glad that my GF and I don’t have this sort of problem. I’m a geek and she’s a nerd, so I guess we already realized way before that there are some “wierd” things about each other that we’ll never understand and will just have to accept 😉

Just so my blog doesn’t rot

Been so busy recently, the holiday season’s always the busiest both for work and our choir.

But after one of our concerts, for some reason we ended up making fun of Beowulf. Perhaps it was the fact that one would notice that he kinda screams his name a lot… too much in fact. So as a tribute to that, and a few minutes with Photoshop, I present the movie summary of Beowulf in a single image.

That’s right! I’m goddamn Beowulf, motherfucker!

AlphaTrack

So I finally got the AlphaTrack after all this time. Actually I already had the unit since Pia came back – however, the unit had outdated firmware. And for some strange reason, Frontier didn’t have software available to download that can upgrade it.

Yet, as mind-boggling as the decision not to have such software seems; Mr. Brian George, the head of the AlphaTrack development, was kind enough to take the time to find a way to send me a new updated unit as a replacement.

Today, I just spent 3 hours in the post-office/customs to get my replacement unit of the AlphaTrack. I just have to say that I hate Philippine customs.

They are, quite frankly a bunch of bloody thieves. They really find ways to swindle you out of your money and not give you a choice about it. You’re literally at their mercy, and it pisses the hell out of me that you can’t get these motherfuckers fired for their unreasonable actions. Read More

On Nickelback and “musical fraud”

I may be one of the few people that are alone in this (is that sentence even right?) – but I just have to comment on a recent “phenomenon” that has been making waves on the internet about the credibility of Nickelback.

For those of you who don’t know, Nickelback has recently been attacked, accused of “recycling music” – hence are “ripping-off” the fans by feeding them with material that has already been used.

Before I even go any further in my commentary, I suggest you listen to the NPR article about it.
