Videos from [my] MacBook Pro sessions

Here are real-world examples of how the new MBPs perform. The purpose of the videos isn’t so much as to show how much faster (or slower) it may be compared to other systems – but to ease Apple users’ minds should they be considering an upgrade.

First I’d like to apologize for the horrible video quality. I was using an external iSight which had a hard time focusing (it would switch focus every few seconds, so I had to kill the auto-focus) The movie was captured using a small resolution setting so YouTube then blew it up… and ergo the blurriness.

Katz sent us an email with a YouTube link. I found it particularly funny because we have a member in BP who left an impression on the group by doing something similar during the US tour. His impression was the song “Get Here (If You Can)” as originally sung by Oleta Adams if I’m not mistaken.

My favorite was the “There’s just so many things” part, and “Into something real(reel)”

The Power of Nightmares

I just got to watch BBC’s three-part documentary/series “The Power of Nightmares.” I wouldn’t say it was an eye-opener, but I can say that it would be good for everyone to watch it – so long as you have an open mind.

I guess the good thing about this documentary is how it explains the danger from both sides. How a government can abuse and use fear to control society, and how even noble causes can mutate into idealism that’s no better than the system they wish to abolish.
