So here&#8217;s some rock for a change of pace.<!--more--><!-- \/\/ --><\/p>\n<p>People who hear it immediately try to &#8220;fish&#8221; out the issue that made me write this song, and for those who <em>know,<\/em> of course the question was always if I stilled had any &#8220;feelings&#8221; connected to it. So to put everything to rest, here&#8217;s the score:<\/p>\n<p>The beautiful thing about music is that any type of negativity can be channelled into something worthwhile <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_969_1('footnote_plugin_reference_969_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_969_1('footnote_plugin_reference_969_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_969_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">1 <\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_969_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">I actually like this song despite its &#8220;roots&#8221;<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_969_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_969_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> rather than let it ruin your day. So the anger\/rage I felt was all over and done with <em>years ago,<\/em> when I started the song. I simply returned to it today to finish it &#8211; because it was a damn waste of decent musical material.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, ultimately, it&#8217;s a person&#8217;s choice if they let themselves be &#8220;bothered&#8221; by past experiences, but as far as I&#8217;m concerned, having my personality; while I do not forget (or forgive for that matter), I simply don&#8217;t let it bother me anymore \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>It <em>is<\/em> worth mentioning, that in order to finish the song (basically the lyrics were missing, I only had the chorus and the first part of the first verse when I put it on the backburner) I had to try to remember exactly the things that made me write the song, and now that they&#8217;ve been penned, it&#8217;s frightening to realize that the verses are an extremely accurate retelling of what I felt those days.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h1>Not Welcome<\/h1>\n<p><em>I<\/em><br \/>\nHey, my &#8220;old friend,&#8221;<br \/>\ncould you tell me once again how &#8220;special&#8221; you think I am to you.<br \/>\nHow you said you&#8217;ll &#8220;earn back&#8221; my trust&#8230; someday.<\/p>\n<p>Can you explain,<br \/>\nwhy the things that you say seem to change whenever you speak to someone new?<br \/>\nTell me, how are we supposed to know what&#8217;s &#8220;true?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I know I&#8217;m no angel; it&#8217;s one thing we seem to share<br \/>\nIf you really understood me, the least you could&#8217;ve been was fair  <\/p>\n<p>I guess you never really cared<\/p>\n<p><em>CHORUS<\/em><br \/>\nI&#8217;ve seen it all this time;<br \/>\nhow you&#8217;ve always crossed the line &#8211; and set me up to fall.<br \/>\nYou never liked the truth; how I&#8217;ve always seen right through you.<br \/>\nThen you have the nerve to tell me that you &#8220;love&#8221; me;<br \/>\nhow you never want to lose me &#8211; or was it to confuse me;<br \/>\nbelieving that this friendship was something you held so dear.<\/p>\n<p>Well, you&#8217;re not welcome here.<\/p>\n<p><em>II<\/em><br \/>\nI wouldn&#8217;t say that I was blind to your lies,<br \/>\nit&#8217;s just it never crossed my mind<br \/>\nthat you could say the things you say<br \/>\nand manage convince me not to turn and walk away.<br \/>\nThe way you say you&#8217;re sorry, all the promises you make&#8230;<br \/>\nis it easy when you break them?<br \/>\nThe way you betray; it&#8217;s more than I can take.<\/p>\n<p>I know I&#8217;m no angel &#8211; but I&#8217;ve always been &#8220;true&#8221;<br \/>\nI may have said some painful things, but I never &#8220;lied&#8221; to you.<\/p>\n<p>Can you say the same thing too?<\/p>\n<p><em>CHORUS<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>GUITAR SOLO<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>OUTRO<\/em><br \/>\nI&#8217;ve seen it all before, now I&#8217;m locking up the door.<br \/>\nJust go away, &#8216;cuz there ain&#8217;t no one here.<br \/>\nI&#8217;m headed for some better days; living life without you.<br \/>\nYou can say all you want; tell the whole wide world your &#8220;pain&#8221;<br \/>\nBut if you&#8217;re the victim,<br \/>\nI wonder who constantly kept on breaking the trust I used to hold so dear?<\/p>\n<p>Well &#8220;dear,&#8221; you aint&#8217; welcome here!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Arrangement wise, I chose a simple band setting; very raw and possible to perform live as is.
