Surprisingly, it works very well for us because at the end of the day, when all is said and done, we ultimately will have to wing it anyways <em>hahahaha.<\/em> The awesome thing about that implication is that there&#8217;s no personal creativity stifled in the whole process.<!--more--><!-- \/\/ --><\/p>\n<h1>Introduction \/ History<\/h1>\n<p>This song is a continuation of my recent &#8220;recording spree.&#8221; By this time I&#8217;ve abandoned the urge to perfectly mix and master given that my monitors (via mixer or consumer speakers) were so unreliable. Until I get that Genelec system I&#8217;ve been eyeing <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_964_1('footnote_plugin_reference_964_1_3');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_964_1('footnote_plugin_reference_964_1_3');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_964_1_3\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">3 <\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_964_1_3\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">I&#8217;ll probably get it in two months when I&#8217;ve saved enough<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_964_1_3').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_964_1_3', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> (and perhaps a new mixer), I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ll be able to get to the quality of my recent <em>original<\/em> compositions (e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nargalzius.com\/blog\/archives\/2007\/01\/27\/heaven\">Heaven,<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nargalzius.com\/blog\/archives\/2007\/02\/09\/jaded\">Jaded,<\/a> etc.)<\/p>\n<p>So this started when I was thinking of what other songs I could record, and I remembered that while we had an old &#8220;Could You Be Messiah&#8221; on an old CD we produced for his DWTL <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_964_1('footnote_plugin_reference_964_1_4');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_964_1('footnote_plugin_reference_964_1_4');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_964_1_4\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">4 <\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_964_1_4\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Days With The Lord<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_964_1_4').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_964_1_4', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> rectoring batch, I distinctly remember him having another &#8220;instrumental&#8221; version which was so spot on that my normal vocal approach to the song would fit it like a glove (timing and all). I knew it was psychological because I have recorded songs that are low and they turned out ok &#8211; I guess it&#8217;s just that I&#8217;ve been so used to this being sung high that going down FIVE half steps was a drastic change.<\/p>\n<p>I also found that original vocal approach to it (e.g. the first version) didn&#8217;t work as well; for one, this was much too slower.
