From the <em>tong<\/em>-able traffic enforcers, to the <em>fixers<\/em> in the LTO.<\/p>\n<p>But in all fairness, usually these unfortunate &#8220;technicalities&#8221; I don&#8217;t mind playing into usually just have to do with not being able to get things done because of <em>futher<\/em> red-tape. I guess if you&#8217;re caught and given a ticket, it would be fine if you can get your driver&#8217;s license back easily. Or you&#8217;d probably not go through fixers if they actually <em>fixed<\/em> the <strong>inherent slowness<\/strong> of data-processing in LTO&#8217;s system. And someone <em>still<\/em> hasn&#8217;t explained why the fuck they need to take <em>two different<\/em> <strong>digital<\/strong> pictures, at <em>two different<\/em> places, at <em>two different<\/em> times! Haven&#8217;t these guys heard of the term <em>file-copying?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You know what? I don&#8217;t even know why I&#8217;m explaining myself, do whatever the hell you want to do &#8211; I&#8217;ll do whatever&#8217;s <em>quickest<\/em>. But that&#8217;s not the point of my post. The &#8220;corruption&#8221; i&#8217;m talking about is in the Ateneo system itself&#8230; and God bless them hahaha.<\/p>\n<!--more-->\n<p>I had to get college transcripts for both me and my sister. GP told me of a certain person to talk to at a certain office who can get the job done in a couple of hours. I was able to get my transcript processed and ready the same day &#8211; let me correct myself: I was able to get both my sister&#8217;s and mine processed <em>before the telephone conversation ended.<\/em> 5 copies of each at that.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Eto na ho sir, pinoprocess ko na, pede mo na daanan kahit kelan.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Oh di ba? Panalo!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While I was at it, I asked about my diploma, since I never recalled getting it (and honestly I really didn&#8217;t care about it), but my mom told me my sister needed hers, so I might as well just ask about mine too, after five years, when I swing by.<\/p>\n<p>I left with mine. (I couldn&#8217;t get Pia&#8217;s because of further complications).<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/96\/206391505_12e3fba41f_o.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"click on image for more details\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/96\/206391505_12e3fba41f_m.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>Of course getting a diploma must be much easier than getting transcripts, but still I was really pleased by how efficient people can become when you actually just forego all the red-tape involved in processing. It just proves that it is possible to process fast, employees simply choose not to do it. So I really don&#8217;t mind if the person pocketed the &#8220;processing fee&#8221; or not, because if they were able to accomplish whatever the school is supposed to do in the first place, then by all means, <em>they<\/em> deserved to be paid&#8230; not the school.<\/p>\n<p>Another good thing was the PABX answering service of the school:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Thank you for calling Ateneo&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h1>Finally, the <em>proper<\/em> way to address <em>a proper noun!<\/em><\/h1>\n<p>It&#8217;s &#8220;Ateneo,&#8221; plain and simple&#8230; not <strong>The<\/strong> Ateneo&#8230; end of story&#8230; shut up&#8230; fuck you. hehehe.<\/p>\n<p>I guess the school is pretty decent after all, it&#8217;s just the students that are retards.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As much I hate to admit it, sometimes a corrupt system has its benefits.
