I still try to trim it down because let’s face it – I can’t listen to all of them.

I don’t have the patience to collect all the URLs and RSS feeds for the podcasts that I’m about to mention. Instead, I invite you to go to Podcast Alley, do a search, and get more information on them… should you feel the need to do some extra research.

Another tip is that do not use iTunes’ podcast directory… at least for now. It sucks, Podcast Alley has a much, much more comprehensive listing (and frankly a better implementation in itself). You still can add the XML feeds to iTunes (4.9 and later), via the advanced function: simply select
advanced > subscribe to podcast
. It will probably entail more clicks, but I find it more reliable.

The reason I actually wanted to post was to promote one particular podcast called “Stupid Church People,” because they basically epitomize my whole take on the “structured” church. More info below.

Stupid Church People

These are two active Christians 1 And when I say “active” I mean one is a pastor, and the other is a paid minister. who tackle the idea on how structured religion tends to focus on the wrong things and ends up misguiding people. They are very progressive (and sometimes radical) in their views and own up to being “Stupid Church People” themselves.

The great thing about them is that they indeed admit that they too are as lost as everyone else – and that they are still searching. That’s not to say that they are ignorant, as mentioned in the footnote, they are pretty high up the ranks in their respective churches, so academically they hold their own.

The beauty of the content is the fact that they are questioning and searching everything. It shows how much they want to be close to God – as compared to most people who simply go through the motions and claim to be better off or in the right path. Hence the double meaning of Stupid Church People.

They are not afraid to “call out” 2 They say stuff like “I’m going to call it out” – when they point out specific issues that are deemed to be too sensitive for public consumption. I may talk about how Stupid Church People can tickle the mind – but the way DVD “tickles” the mind is totally different. Unadulterated evil hilarity at it’s finest.

It is known for its News of the wierd segment, where he reads and comments on true to life events that defy reason. An example is a mom who had sexual activities with her sons’ friends in a party because she wanted to be a “cool mom.”

This guy’s delivery is impeccable, able to turn the most mundane thing into something funny. You can stay tuned for his Sextastic Tuesday segment, where he reads any type of porn; straight, gay, bestiality, fantasy (unicorns!). His latest reading was about Telletubbies having sex hahahaha!

Lastly, it’s totally insensitive and politically incorrect – what’s not to love?

Personal podcasts

They’re mostly the same thing – people talking about anything under the sun.

The PK&J Show

Dawn and Drew

Keith and the Girl

K.N.I.G.H.T.S. 3 Pronounced kuh-NI-gits (or basically how it’s spelled).

The Daily Source Code

Comedy podcasts

I love comedy, so obviously this is my number one priority when collecting podcasts.
