Got my replacement 200GB drive 4 days ago. The people from the shop were kind enough to give me one of their sale units instead of having to wait for the actual replacement from the manufacturer\/distributor. Actually this shouldn’t have been an issue in the first place as far as warranties are concerned… but since this is the Philippines, I’m glad there wasn’t any red-tape involved \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n
The past few days, I’ve been downloading like hell to recover what I’ve lost.<\/p>\n
The good news is I shaved off my 20GB song\/album deficit as of today… the bad news is that about half of that is once again, new<\/em> material. eeeep!<\/em> So in effect, I still<\/em> have lacking albums, but I’m already past my original music library size.<\/p>\n I’ve also relegated the 200GB as a secondary drive in favor of the 120GB. Apparently, the 120GB handles powering issues gracefully. Example is when I noticed that it had shut down… and when I ejected the volume in OS X, it simply powered up and ejected. For some reason, doing that same thing with the 200GB isn’t as friendly, it usually freezes the finder. Considering I use it with the laptop (which heavily relies on sleeping and waking) I think the 120GB is a better choice.<\/p>\n In fact, I’m contemplating to just swapping the 200GB with the other 120GB inside<\/em> my PC. They’re of the same make, so I suppose they have the same electronics and same attributes when dealing with powering modes “gracefully.” Might as well have two 120GBs as external drives, and one huge-assed drive for the PC.
