I never knew what my adorable readers wanted to hear more. Is it my life in general (actual kwento), or my perspective of life (my discussions of the issues I see over the net)? But being that I probably only have 2 avid readers/visitors (one being myself), this whole question probably isn’t worth asking in the first place.

Anyways, I plan to talk about my day since a lot of stuff happened.

Skype

First of, I finally used Skype to its full extent. GP‘s been telling me about it waaaay before, and my sister actually uses it (and has sampled it to me once). Last night, Juan, Stevie and I “conferenced” just for the heck of it.

It’s really cool since you can even use it on dial-up I would presume. While conversing perfectly with a friend, I took a look at the data rate it was sending and receiving the packets, and it was clear that it topped off at 4-5KBps, which is around the range of regular dial-up speeds here.

Keeping in touch

So this morning, GP and I started a Skype session, and ended up wasting 8 hours of productivity by chattering away. It wasn’t “wasted” time I guess since it been quite a while since we’ve really talked (and that’s not to say that we actually got profound and shit). But I did learn something valuable out of the telebabad (or should I say voip-babad now?):

In other countries, there is a perfectly “polite” way of asking people if they would like to sleep with you… and yes, you read that right: sleep as in sex. GP‘s apartment-mate was Austrian, and was asking for some nice foreign lines to ask a chick if they’d like to go to home with them. He asked GP (with me on the speaker) what we Filipinos would say. I knew that other cultures were more libreal… I just never thought they were that liberal. I have to get out more.

Of course we Filipinos are probably one of the most tight-assed races, when it comes to the subject matter, so naturally, GP and I had nothing to tell them (oh the shame!). We went on explaining that Filipinos are traditionally conservative. Though our culture is slowly breaking barriers, we never expect our inherent “conservatism” to change anytime soon. Or anytime at all for that matter.

Enough of that, the rest of the conversation with GP was about my choir BukasPalad, his choir ACS, our other kabarkada’s choir Hangad, the whole choral indusry, internet technology then ultimately (of course we couldn’t help it) music. I really miss the prick, since he’s the only person I really ever felt at home with when talking at my/our “wavelength,” wether it be girls, gimmicks or music; no one has ever understood me as much as he did.

Other stuff

I also texted Jem to wish her a happy birthday. Dunno if she got it though, since she was in the Netherlands, and I sure as hell wasn’t going to spend another P20 or more on a text or call. Besides they had their birthday party, which I took photos off – so she can’t complain when she gets back.

Also went to JesCom early to eat some isaw for dinner with Jowi… 8 sticks to be precise, from the second-best isaw place IMHO. Yes, I’ve rated them:

Jowi/Bones‘s neighborhood.

Brangka (right behind Ateneo)

UP

Countryside (along Katipunan)

Then the tenors started coming, as we were scheduled for a recording session of the new album.

iPod

I sold my well-kept iPod today, and am now iPodless… until tomorrow afternoon/evening that is – I’m upgrading to the 60GB iPod Photo.

And no, this isn’t techno-lust, as JC would say. It is actually a prepared, practical “upgrade” path. You see the iPod photo connector has been released, but only works with the iPod Photos. Of course it may or may not be hacked to be used with the older generations, but that’s beside the point.

I really wanted the 40GB iPod Photo, but apparently, the last stock of which, was taken by JC. Now I’ve got to shell out an extra 3k to get the 60GB version – which is probably for the best. I mean you can never have to much space right? That’s what I’ve learned when it comes to storage… of course, that could just be me sourgraping.

So tomorrow (or later considering the time), I visit the other shops to get the usual: clickwheel/lcd protectors… and if God willing, a decent case for it.

Also wanted to buy a 200GB hard disk for my MP3s, but I guess that would have to wait… again!

You know what?
