Anyways, I had lunch with my dad today and we were listening to the game via DZMM (AM radio); and we could’ve sworn that Pacquiao would win by the way that blasted sportscaster was “describing” the fight. This guy [the commentator] was soooo<\/em> into Pacquiao, that his blow-by-blow reporting was one sided. If his<\/em> version was the truth, you wouldn’t be surprised if Pacquiao had accidentally killed<\/em> Morales.<\/p>\n And yet, Morales won – which goes to show how awful that bit of commentator-ship was. It’s one thing to be rooting for your countrymen, but in professional<\/em> sportscasting, it wouldn’t hurt to try not<\/strong><\/em> to be biased… especially if your listeners have nothing else to go with besides the words you’re spitting out. It’s not like watching an NBA game where it didn’t matter even if Charles Barkley himself would root for a particular team – because you can see<\/em> for yourself how the two teams are doing. In radio, people don’t have a choice but to listen to you, so it would be nice that you relay your information as-is,<\/em> without any biases.<\/p>\n\n If what that sportscaster was saying was the truth, I guess that would mean Manny wasn’t strong enough, he apparently dished out a whole lot more punches than Morales. That would mean Morales simply wasn’t hurt by them hehehehe.<\/p>\n Sarcasm aside. Pacquiao loses to Erik Morales by 2 points… I dunno how they score the fights, but 2 points seems pretty close to me. I’ve read that even the latinos\/Mexicans (who comprise about 80% of the audience in these types of competitions) admire Pacquiao – that alone should be worth something right? He must be really good to gain the respect of the same crowd who’s backyard he’s invading.<\/p>\n And he wins either way – as far as money is concerned. I hear those boxing matches have a ridiculous amount of prize money wether you win or lose. I think he stands to win a couple of million pesos if he loses,<\/em> and about 4 million dollars<\/strong><\/em> if he wins.
