During the wait, I ordered a pair of carrying cases for them from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.64audio.com\">64Audio<\/a> because why the fuck not \ud83d\ude1b<\/p>\n<!-- \/\/ --><!--more--><!-- \/\/ -->\n<p>Kidding aside, these cases are the type of cases that you wish came stock with every IEM. I mean just look at them:<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/565\/32509011021_8b77a4f9ef_o.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"click for more\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/565\/32509011021_67513f7f6d_n.jpg\" class=\"wb\">\n<\/a>\n<div class=\"caption bottom\">So purty!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Coming in at about 7 x 12 x 3.5 centimeters, it has the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Individually padded compartments for L\/R IEMs<\/li>\n<li>Cable tree for cable organization.<\/li>\n<li>Dehumidifier<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning tool<\/li>\n<li>Shirt clip<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Apart from the cleaning tool, <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_1973_1('footnote_plugin_reference_1973_1_2');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_1973_1('footnote_plugin_reference_1973_1_2');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_1973_1_2\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">2 <\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_1973_1_2\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Which comes standard with any IEM<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_1973_1_2').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_1973_1_2', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> everything about this case is a bonus compared to, say my <a href=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5145\/5605489974_a4feee8386_n.jpg\">UERMs original carry case<\/a> Which can&#8217;t even secure the cleaning tool properly. The option of having a clip handy is a fine touch. Then the cable tree, dehumidifier, and compartments are strokes of genius.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the FlipEars units had a larger profile and couldn&#8217;t fit without disconnecting the cables. Thankfully, I had made the decision earlier to switch to mmcx connectors\/cables so experimenting with or without the cables was no biggie.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/539\/32631575385_97d93c3a39_o.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"click for more\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/539\/32631575385_d0b5726e26_n.jpg\" class=\"wb\">\n<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>I eventually fiddled with the case more to allow putting the units without having to disconnect anything. It was possible &#8211; but at the expense of not having the L\/R units individually protected. All it took was to ditch the rubber lining (which thankfully, was removable)<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/257\/32631582495_8a3f98b02e_o.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"click for more\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/257\/32631582495_429d08ee6d_n.jpg\" class=\"wb\">\n<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>To compensate for the lost rubber padding, I bought those thin rubber pads meant to be put underneath small furniture from the hardware store and strategically placed them in the areas of contact. <\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3744\/32679226541_b46469c6fc_o.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"click for more\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3744\/32679226541_d4a10394f4_n.jpg\" class=\"wb\">\n<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>As I mentioned above, normally there&#8217;d be no way to protect the two IEMs from hitting each other if you shook it hard enough, but the foam backing on the top\/cover is a bit thick so it presses against the IEMs when you close the case &#8211; therefore securing them in their place.
