I’ve just finalized the “purchase” of my new Powerbook<\/a>, to be delivered tomorrow.<\/p>\n I used quotes, since the distributor, by some act of God, allowed to give me the machine without any downpayment, credit, or check.<\/p>\n It seems they know a friend of mine quite well, and have unwavering trust in his “customers.”<\/p>\n\n The story behind that is that I will have the cash by the end of the month. Of course me being me, an impatient bastard, I tried to find ways to get the machine asap without having to give post-dated checks, or having a credit card surcharge.<\/p>\n Anyways, to make a long story short – I ended up having to wait till the end of the month since that’s where the actual cash comes in.<\/p>\n A friend of mine, however, referred me to this other store – which happens to be a Gold distributor of Apple products. I texted them Saturday night, and they said they’d get back to me monday morning. They also mentioned there was a 5% surcharge (which was lower, but a surcharge nonetheless)<\/p>\n A little while ago, I recieved a call from the saleperson saying that since I was referred by this friend of mine, they could do the transaction by word of honor. Meaning I didn’t have to use my card, give any check… nor any downpayment whatsoever.<\/strong><\/p>\n Too good to be true eh? Well it is too good, but it is most certainly true. I could pay them the full amount by Nov 1. at the latest, but for all the effort they’re going through, I’m pretty sure I’ll be giving a downpayment… just so I don’t look pathetic. I mean my case really seemed like a charity case (“Please sir I don’t have money right now”<\/em> hehehe)<\/p>\n So there you have it.<\/p>\n Price : Mind you, it only costs PhP 2,000 more from when you get it from the Apple Store at http:\/\/www.apple.com<\/a>.
