<\/a>\n<\/center>\nSince it’s kind of hard to take a picture of a camera using itself,<\/em> I took this pic from my previous post<\/a> (which in turn was taken from the internet)<\/p>\n\n “Canon EOS 1D MarkII”<\/p>\n “Canon 70-200 f\/2.8L IS USM”<\/p>\n “Canon EOS 20D”<\/p>\n “420EX Speedlite”<\/p>\n “50mm f\/1.4 USM”<\/p>\n “28-135mm IS USM”<\/p>\n “View post”<\/p>\n The camera was bought straight from the 20D\/XL2 launch, which was held at The Loft, Rockwell. First time I can honestly say that I was among the first hundereds\/thousands in the world to get the 20D<\/a> “officially,” since it was a global launch (that’s why they released the units at exactly mindnight, Sept 15).<\/p>\n Elation aside, the launch was very interesting as Nono and I were finally able to get our hands on the best Canon camera and lens… namely the EOS 1D MarkII<\/a> using a 70-200 f\/2.8L IS USM lens<\/a>. That was a real highlight of the night for me, since I couldn’t care less what the Canon people had to say about their products (meaning they don’t have to convince me)… I just wanted to get my 20D<\/a> and get the hell out of there. But we had to wait till midnight till the units can be relased, so testing out stuff while waiting was a cool experience.<\/p>\n They had a raffle too – the prizes were pretty cool. Ranging from a normal to downright stellar. Started with a couple of document bags, then camera bags I think. They then upped the pace with a decent printer, then a 420EX Strobe<\/a>. Next was a lens we drooled for: 50mm with a 1.4<\/em> aperture!<\/a> and [surprisingly] my 28-135 IS USM lens<\/a>. Last was a kickass printer perfect for photos. We didn’t win anything of course, but we were more than happy to be first in line with the 20D reservations.<\/p>\n Anyways, midnight came and I coughed up the dough… next thing I knew, I was happily driving home with a brand spankin’ new Canon EOS 20D<\/a>! It was a good thing I bought from the launch as I got a free extra original<\/strong> battery (those things can fetch up to php 4k), and the unit was decently priced (similar to a 10D) No special discounts I guess, but the price\/performance ratio (as I’ve discussed<\/a>) is more than fair. If people get the cam at cheaper prices later, then good for them – I’d still have no regrets getting it now.<\/p>\n Found a bunch of issues (which I bet everyone wants to know) but I’ll study the manual and unit thoroughly before I start posting my comments. Next post would probably be some personal overview of the 20D itself. I’ll be posting links to the credible reviews, but will mention some pros and cons related to my (and maybe others’) use.
