Pretty interesting along the end. I guess I was too quick to judge ID. I guess Half Life really did a good job to set a &#8220;standard,&#8221; which other games had to top.<\/p>\n<p>I wouldn&#8217;t say Doom3 beat HL&#8217;s story though, but it&#8217;s pretty good.<\/p>\n<!--more-->\n<hr \/>\n<p>After analyzing the game, I then thought of the other games I&#8217;ve played, games that I consider &#8220;the best&#8221; story-wise. For the heck of it, I&#8217;ve listed some off the top of my head.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.longestjourney.com\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">The Longest Journey<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/games.activision.com\/games\/vampire\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">Vampire the Masquerade<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<li>Silent Hill <a href=\"http:\/\/www.silenthill.de\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">1<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.konami-europe.com\/silenthill3\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">3<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rockstargames.com\/maxpayne2\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">Max Payne 2 &#8211; The Fall of Max Payne<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Diablo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blizzard.com\/diablo\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">1<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blizzard.com\/diablo2\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">2<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/games.sierra.com\/games\/half-life\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">Half Life<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eidosinteractive.com\/gss\/legacy\/thief_metalage\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">Thief 2<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucasarts.com\/products\/jediacademy\/index.html\" title=\"Visit official site\">Jedi Academy<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hitman2.com\/\" title=\"Visit official site\">Hitman 2<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The titles in <em>italics<\/em> are games I swear my life on. And it&#8217;s funny  because those are two games I only &#8220;tried&#8221; for lack of any other options during the time. It&#8217;s amazing that they turned out to be the ones with the best storylines I&#8217;ve ever experienced.<\/p>\n<p>Those two will FOREVER be on the top of my list&#8230; unless something really <em>stellar<\/em> comes along.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, Doom3&#8217;s finished.
