Because any adventure costs [money]&#8230; and I think I&#8217;ve got enough stuff from 2009 to keep me busy (e.g. cycling, recording stuff, etc.) I&#8217;d like to be able to save more than I spend &#8211; especially that the world economy won&#8217;t seem to improve anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>Also, a bit of trivia, the database ID of this entry is 1000 &#8211; just thought that was kinda cool.<!--more--><!-- \/\/ --><\/p>\n<h1>2009 Roundup<\/h1>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What did you do in 2009 that you&#8217;d never done before?<\/strong><br \/>\nIt would have to be <a href=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2789\/4127427107_b0460b4e00_o.jpg\">Ripstik-ing<\/a>  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Did you keep your new years&#8217; resolutions, and will you make more for next year?<\/strong><br \/>\nYep, to start biking &#8211; <em>finally.<\/em>  For 2010, I&#8217;d like to spend less and save more <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_1000_1('footnote_plugin_reference_1000_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_1000_1('footnote_plugin_reference_1000_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_1000_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">1 <\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_1000_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">But I will have to put photography stuff as an exception, since that&#8217;s what&#8217;s left from my &#8220;major projects list from 2009<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_1000_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_1000_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> &#8230; and lose the tummy and maintain a healthy metabolism so I can still enjoy eating!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Did anyone close to you give birth?<\/strong><br \/>\nFriends, yes &#8211; but not anyone &#8220;close.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Did anyone close to you die?<\/strong><br \/>\nNot really, by best friend&#8217;s dad died, does that count?  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What countries did you visit?<\/strong><br \/>\nNone. Boo.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?<\/strong><br \/>\nSavings! I actually did save, but not as much as I would&#8217;ve preferred.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?<\/strong><br \/>\nI would have to say the days during <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nargalzius.com\/gallery\/set.php?\/72157622457273070\">Typhoon Ondoy\/Ketsena<\/a>; lots of friends suffered because of that blasted storm.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What was your biggest achievement of the year?<\/strong><br \/>\nI guess it would be getting the car.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What was your biggest failure?<\/strong><br \/>\nNone! Yay!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Did you suffer illness or injury?<\/strong><br \/>\nNothing serious, I accidentally slammed the seat on my ribs while going downhill somewhere&#8230; took a few weeks to recover. Nothing was broken thankfully.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What was the best thing you bought?<\/strong><br \/>\nOh god, there are so many! 2009 was a very material year for me. Genelec <a href=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2444\/4049021641_46c4850471_o.jpg\">nearfields<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2589\/4177403163_0fe66a4f88_o.jpg\">subwoofer<\/a><br \/>\nd. <a href=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2608\/4232932351_b81571251b_o.jpg\">JBL MSC-1<\/a> Monitor System Controller  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Whose behavior merited celebration?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo one I can recall. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?<\/strong><br \/>\nA choirmate of mine. But I&#8217;m neither appalled nor depressed (since it doesn&#8217;t really affect my way of dealing with them) &#8211; more of disappointed. Most of the time though, as long as its comfortable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What kept you sane?<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Who<\/em> is more appropriate, and it&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2683\/4200242163_bbf93334f6_o.jpg\">same person<\/a> since 4 years ago.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>What political issue stirred you the most?<\/strong><br \/>\nI&#8217;m not sure if it&#8217;s still considered political; but it would have to be how impressionable our culture is; how we value impressions\/reputations more than facts\/evidence. More specifically; the reasons behind Noynoy&#8217;s leading the polls.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Who did you miss?<\/strong><br \/>\nMy mom.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Who was the best new person you met?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe people from Non-pro and Rideable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:<\/strong><br \/>\nNothing I&#8217;ve already learned from before. However I would reiterate the value of perseverance. If you want something, don&#8217;t rely on karma or faith or whatever superstition you have to get it.
