Begin the grounding!

Today it starts. I don’t give a rat’s ass what the administration says, I’m sticking a ten-foot copper pole in the ground beside the unit which we live in! Not only that, I’m going to mess with our electrical system!

“Creative Inspire 5.1”

“Klipsch ProMedia 5.1”

“TipidPC”

Well it’s not really me that’s going to do the work, but these electricians I hired. You see I’ve busted speakers 3 times already through no fault of my own.

First was a set of Creative Inspires, which I sold once I had it under warranty. Next were my KlipschesTWICE! 2nd time it got busted was out of warranty. So had it serviced with this TipidPC memeber who was known to be an excellent repairman.

Anyways to cut a long story short, I want to rule out power issues so I’m having my room’s electrical lines beefed up and have the whole house grounded. Honestly, it’s beyond me why this isnt a requirement in all households in the first place. But then again, this is the Philippines =)

The electricians discovered a lot of politics involved in the construction of the house. One was ALL the wires were substandard, the airconditioners, heater, and refrigerator weren’t grounded, and weren’t on separate circuits. Basically this simply suggested that the contractor 1) wanted to save money on the materials and 2) was an idiot.

Unfortunately, the service costed roughly about 600PHP per socket (without the materials) to rewire to the breaker. I had 4, and since my circuit was shared with my sister, and I wanted a separate circuit from the rest of the house, so I just allowed them to rewire even my sisters. The day ended with the wires replaced, but the ground not yet engaged. So they will return tomorrow to finish the job.

Have a say
